How to book your Guided Fishing Trip
There are many ways you can book your fishing trip with Potomac Joe's Fishing Service, you can:

What should you bring with you
- Camera - Definitely bring a camera to take pictures of your big catch and the beautiful and historical sceneries along the Potomac River.
- Sunscreen - The sun can be more intense on the water (recommend wearing it even on shady days).
- Appropriate Attire - Monitor the weather and wear appropriate clothing - we fish in the sun and rain (e.g. Hat, comfortable clothes, comfortable shoes & dress in layers).
- Sunglasses - Polarized if you have them to get a better view of the water but any sunglasses will work.
- Food & Drinks - You're welcome to bring food and drink with a small soft cooler (there is limited space on the boat).
- Rods and Reels - We supply various size rods, spinning reels and tackle but you are welcome to bring your own.
What we provide
We provide quality gear at no additional charge. We have a cooler on board with water for you to enjoy while fishing, tackle, spinning reels spooled with various pound test line, and various rods which are to be used at no additional charge to you. We don’t charge extra for lost or used lures but there will be a charge if equipment such as rods & reels are lost overboard and cannot be retrieved.
Fishing Cleaning
Fish cleaning is a not a routine service. However, if time permits we will assist you as we can.
Cancellation Policy
If conditions are deemed by us to be unsafe, we will work with you to reschedule. If severe weather cancels your scheduled trip and it's unable to be rescheduled, we will gladly refund your deposit. In the case of rain, we recommend proper rain gear. There are usually fewer pleasure boaters on the water which provide better fishing conditions.
Licenses
All licenses are covered for everyone on the boat, except the DC license. If required, the D.C. License must be purchased in advance through DC Dept. of Energy
We maintain all of the required licenses and registration for the Potomac River to include the Potomac River Fisheries Commission and the States of Maryland and Virginia;
Keeping the Catch
Potomac Joe's is a Fishing Guide Service, we practice catch and release for Large Mouth Bass. We use artificial baits for all bass trips. All fish are caught and harvested in accordance to the law. Every effort is made to release every Large Mouth Bass caught in good shape to fight again another day.
Safety
Boat is operated by a US Coast Guard licensed Captain who is CPR and First Aid Certified. The boat is equipped with Type I USCG approved life jackets and you will be provided safety instructions prior to beginning your fishing trip.
Tobacco - Alcohol - Drug Use
No illegal drugs or alcohol are allowed on board - NO EXCEPTIONS!.
